KIDS

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:6

family guide We welcome you and your children into our Child/Youth ministries, confident you will find spiritual training in the way of the Lord within this congregation. Consider picking up a copy of Pastor David Robinson’s book on family spiritual formation, The Busy Family’s Guide to Spirituality. (click on picture for more information)
We believe the home is the primary place for spiritual nurture of children. Parents are called by God to train up children in the way of the Lord, in Christ’s way, truth and life. The local church is also called by God to assist parents in the holy adventure of raising children in the faith. At Community Presbyterian Church, we begin training children from birth, through our nursery ministry, our primary and intermediate ministry of Sunday school and AWANA, on through youth and young-adult approaches to spiritual formation.

Sunday School Classes:

  • Nursery: 0-3 years of age
  • Primary: 4-7 years of age
  • Intermediate: 8-12 years of age
We invite you to bring your children to participate in our Sunday age level classes. All classes are based in the Bible, teaching children basic life principles from God’s Word with hands-on application, crafts and snacks. Children are dismissed to Sunday School during the 10:30 a.m. Worship service. Sunday School runs weekly from 10:45-11:30 a.m. On the last Sunday of every month, Family Sunday, children stay in worship with their parents or grandparents.

Community Presbyterian Church launched our AWANA ministry in Fall 2009. We’ve had 40-50 children involved in this weekly Wednesday evening ministry.  Beginning in October, we invite your children to come participate in AWANA on Wednesday Evenings, 6-8 p.m., for an evening of Bible memorization, Bible stories, songs and games. Perhaps you would like to come offer you time and gifts as an AWANA volunteer leader. Please contact our AWANA commander, Cassie Thompson through the Church Office, (503) 436-1222.

We also support North Young Life through participation in annual fund-raising efforts to help fund this local mission. The mission of North Coast Young Life is simple: that every adolescent in the North Coast area will have the opportunity to meet Jesus Christ and follow Him. For more information about North Coast Young Life, including our ministry to Middle School kids (Wyldlife) or our ministry to High School kids (Young Life), see our local mission service page.
For over three decades, Cannon Beach Community Church has partnered with North Coast Young Life to reach out to youth in our community with the good news of Jesus Christ. Over this time, thousands of kids have had the opportunity to meet Jesus Christ and begin walking with the Lord. Community Presbyterian Church supports North Coast Young Life through our giving, our praying, through volunteer leaders, through adults who serve on the Adult Committee.
