Short-Term or Long-Term Mission
Short-Term Mission
Consider going on a “Short-Term Mission”, for a period of a week, a few weeks, or a few months, depending upon your schedule and sense of Christ’s call. In the past few years, we’ve commissioned, helped to support, and sent members and friends of Community Presbyterian Church on short-term mission service to serve Christ in the following countries:
- Switzerland: teaching English to Youth
- China: Gansu, Inc. to bring sight to the blind through mobile eye clinics
- Kenya, Africa: to serve in medical clinics in rural Kenya
- Macedonia: to serve youth camping ministry through Young Life International
- Cambodia: Medical Teams International medical clinics
- Liberia: Medical Teams International medical clinics
- Russia: teaching Bible to youth and families at family camp
- Malawi: teaching teachers working in orphanage schools
- Costa Rica: Christian camping ministry international
- Ukraine: Vacation Bible School to children of Crimea peninsula
Long-Term Mission
Consider stepping out into a career calling of full-time, long-term mission service. There are a variety of types of mission careers depending upon your spiritual giftedness, your training and experience, as well as your sense of call. In the past few years, we’ve commissioned several members to go into long-term mission service, including:
- Adam Carlsen to Central America to serve in Christian Camping International with Global Outreach.
- Josh Stuck to WordSign Project to create a visual Bible through digital animation for the world’s deaf.
