We offer a rich variety of music styles, drawing upon the great Scripture heritage of worship music, including Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs (See Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16).
9 A.M. Contemporary: Our contemporary worship service is led by a worship band with vocals, acoustic guitar, acoustic grand piano and hand drums. Music at this service comes from the contemporary genre of Christian worship music, featuring worship songs by such songwriters as Chris Tomlin, Matt & Beth Redman, and Stuart Townend. Weekly this service includes original instrumentals, hand-clapping upbeat praise, and heart-moving music of meditative worship.
10:30 A.M. Traditional: This 10:30 A.M. service features a blend of Hymns, Psalm songs and spiritual songs of worship each week, and is vocally led with musical accompaniment by our organist, Dr. Susan Buehler or by our pianist, Patty Coomes. Both have enjoyed long careers in music education, and offer a wide variety of classical and sacred music with excellence and beauty. On the first Sunday of each month, we sing the Lord’s Prayer (Malotte) and Amazing Grace joining our hands across aisles. The Church Choir, under the direction of Dr. John Buehler, leads the congregation twice a year in musical worship through presentations of Easter and Christmas cantatas.
7 P.M. Taize: Our evening worship service features music composed by the Taize community in France (see www.taize.fr/en). Taize music is led by cantors (soprano and tenor), along with acoustic instruments (grand piano, guitar, violin, flute, and bass clarinet. Taize music consists of simple phrases, often from Scripture, sung as prayerful meditations, with beautiful cantor parts superimposed on the simple ostinato congregational singing. Taize services include several instrumental music offerings during times of reflection.
